Taxi-hailing company 01zhuanche, mobile maker Xiaomi among mobile-app, SDK operators in China asked to make rectifications

( March 22, 2023, 09:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese Taxi-hailing company 01zhuanche, Chinese mobile maker Xiaomi and Chinese music streaming service provider KuGou were asked by the regulator to rectify issues relating to infringements on users' interests and rights, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on its official WeChat account. They are among 55 problematic operators of Chinese mobile apps and software-development kits identified by the regulator. Violations included illegal collection of personal data; making mandatory and frequent requests for access to users' data; or failure of sufficient notification before collecting personal data.
