Over half of UK electricity now from low-carbon sources, minister says

( February 21, 2018, 10:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Almost half of electricity generated in the UK now comes from low-carbon sources such as wind, nuclear and solar, with only 7 percent coming from coal, according to energy and clean growth minister Claire Perry. The UK's low-carbon energy industry employs 200,000 workers and national carbon emissions have fallen more than any other G-7 country since 1990, she said. Clean-energy growth stems from the Kyoto Protocol in 2005, Perry added.The statement follows....
