French 5G security bill gets its final version after Senate, Assembly reach conciliation

( July 4, 2019, 09:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The French Senate and the National Assembly yesterday evening agreed, in a conciliation committee, on the final version of a government bill designed to safeguard security and defense interests when 5G mobile networks are introduced, by early 2020. Almost all the amendments brought by senators to curb the power given to the prime minister in approving the allocation of 5G licenses and simplify the vetting process for 5G operators were approved. President Emmanuel Macron is now expected to promulgate the legislation in the coming weeks.Statement follows in French....
