Continental to maintain EU abuse complaint, US lawsuits against Nokia over car patent licensing

( June 1, 2021, 10:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Continental will continue to pursue an abuse of dominance complaint against Nokia in the EU despite an "extrajudicial settlement" between co-complainant and carmaker Daimler and the Finnish licensor over the licensing of standard-essential patents for connected cars. "We are maintaining our complaint against Nokia with the EU Commission ... as well as continuing to pursue our lawsuits against Nokia in the Courts in Delaware and in Texas," said Helmut Matschi, member of the board of Continental and head of business unit Vehicle Networking and Information. There's still no uniform legal framework for the licensing of standard-essential patents, the company said in a statement, adding that it's willing to pay a court-adjudicated license fee for Nokia's patents.Document is attached....
