Acer’s decision on electricity capacity calculation annulled by EU court

( September 8, 2022, 10:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Germany's energy network regulator has successfully challenged a decision by the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (Acer) on the calculation method for day-ahead and intraday electricity capacity, the EU General Court has said. The Bundesnetzagentur argued that Acer's decision on proposals made by the transmission system operators of the core capacity calculation regions — which comprise 12 EU countries and regarding a common regional method for the calculation — exceeded its responsibility. Acer decided on the whole proposal, although it should have ruled only on topics on which consensus couldn't be reached.
