​Qantas' Asian brands receive ACCC clearance to continue coordination

( February 16, 2018, 07:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission will allow three Qantas Asian-based joint ventures — Jetstar Asia, Jetstar Pacific and Jetstar Japan — to continue coordinating and operating as a single organization in terms of flight scheduling, sales and marketing, and pricing. However, the re-authorization does not extend to allowing coordination between the owners of any of the joint venture airlines — Qantas, Japan Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. The ACCC said the Jetstar joint venture airlines would be unlikely to compete directly with each other in the absence of the proposed coordination.The regulator's full statement follows: ...
