Giant to see EU duties reimposed on Chinese e-bike imports into the bloc

( March 20, 2023, 10:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Giant, the world’s leading electric-bicycle maker will see EU dumping and countervailing duties reimposed on exports from China, the European Commission said today. The decision stems from a ruling of the bloc's lower-tier General Court, which last year annulled the duties on Giant Electric Vehicle Kunshan’s imports over procedural errors. The regulator reopened both probes to remedy the mistakes and asked the EU customs authorities to track new imports for the purpose of levying retrospective tariffs. The EU executive said today that Giant would now face duties of 13.8 percent, including 3.9 percent as an anti-subsidy duty and 9.9 percent for a dumping tariff.Notices are attached. ...
