( October 28, 2011, 07:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has cleared  Etex Group's acquisition of Lafarge's gypsum assets, after finding that the parties' activities overlap only in the market for fire resistant boards, used to slow down or contain the spread of a fire in buildings. As the boards made and sold by both companies are made of different materials and display different performance levels, the proposed operation and the companies' combined market share do not raise competition issues.Read the full statement below....
