G7 to launch AI action plan for the workspace

( June 17, 2024, 10:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Group of Seven Leaders released a statement from their Italy meeting outlining a new action plan for the use of AI in the workplace. The plan aims to promote increased productivity and AI skills while ensuring equal opportunities and workers’ rights. The G7 states will encourage their competition authorities to monitor the development of the AI industry and build upon the Hiroshima AI Process established last year. This includes a reporting framework for monitoring compliance with the International Code of Conduct for Organizations Developing Advanced AI Systems, with a pilot and a “brand” for companies voluntarily complying. They will work on making their approaches to AI governance and regulatory frameworks more interoperable, will collaborate on international standards and improve coordination among their AI safety institutes.Communiqué attached:...
