Thailand to proceed with review of draft AI legislation, plans issuance of AI governance guidelines

( June 17, 2024, 09:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Thailand’s Electronic Transactions Development Agency, or ETDA, has been given the go-ahead to proceed with the review of a draft law on artificial intelligence, according to a statement from the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission. The same meeting presided over by Digital Economy Minister Prasert Chanthararuangthong also approved the establishment of a subcommittee to promote the development of an AI-driven economy, as well as a set of AI Governance Guidelines drafted by ETDA for both the public and private sectors.
