India won't rush rules on data protection law, IT Minister says

Although the rules are one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, its chief Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke of slowing things down in his first official statement to the media on Saturday. Artificial intelligence is another top priority because of its destructive power, but whether India should recalibrate its strategy would need to wait until the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in its digital form comes into shape, Vaishnaw said.India will not rush rules that are crucial to operationalizing the data protection law, the minister for information technology said....
