Judge grants partial summary judgment for college athletes, denies NCAA motion for summary judgment

( April 11, 2014, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Claudia Wilken has partially granted the plaintiffs' motion for summary judgment and denied the defendant's simultaneous motion seeking to end an antitrust case over whether college athletes should be paid. Wilken granted summary judgment in favor of a plaintiffs' motion to disallow an NCAA argument — that it increased financial support for women’s sports and less prominent men’s sports. She also granted a motion for class redefinition. The decision means that plaintiffs will head to trial against the NCAA in June, barring a settlement.See document below. ...
