CSN, Armco notify CADE of steel production, distribution deal

( July 3, 2015, 15:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Steelmakers Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional and Armco do Brasil have asked Brazilian antitrust officials to review their steel production and distribution deal using the fast-track process. Antitrust officials, however, said that the deal can't be reviewed under the fast-track process because one of the parties may have a market share above 30 percent in a vertical related market. CSN intends to acquire a 15 percent stake in Armco, although the agreement gives CSN the option to purchase up to 49 percent of Armco. As part of the deal, CSN will also supply Armco with steel products without establishing an exclusive relationship between the parties,OJ statement follows in full....
