EU industrial emissions-limiting law will affect fewer livestock farms under national government stance

( March 16, 2023, 20:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU industrial emissions-limiting law reform would cover fewer livestock farms than proposed by the European Commission, under a negotiating stance agreed by national environment ministers that would raise the levels of some key indicators. The ministers also introduced a minimum limit of 500 tons per day for the inclusion of certain mining activities into the scope of the law. The text sets the position of the Council of the EU in the future talks with the European Parliament over the final shape of the text.
