Standing in the way is the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission, which this week published a wideranging list of concerns with the transaction as part of an in-depth merger review. But with the country’s pharmacists already operating under an umbrella of anticompetitive restrictions, difficult questions remain over whose interests should take priority in the watchdog’s final competition analysis.Mention the word competition in an Australian pharmacy and it’s likely you’ll be politely asked to leave....
