Individual faces money-laundering charges involving money transfers to nine countries in Lava Jato probe

( October 28, 2019, 22:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Federal prosecutors in Paraná state have filed a complaint in federal court against Célio da Rocha Mattos Neto, manager of international transactions of money launderer Nelma Kodama and responsible for simulating imports to countries such as China, Israel, Hong Kong, Italy, Taiwan, Spain, the United Kingdom, India and Chile to justify the remittance of huge amounts of money abroad illegally, adding up to 60 milllion reais ($15 million). 15 offshores were created with the purpose of laundering money, and they carried out 1,058 transactions. This investigation relates to the beginning of the Lava Jato probe in 2013, when crimes against the national financial system and money laundering involving state-run bank Banestado were under scrutiny.See the statement from federal prosecutors in Paraná below (in Portuguese)....
