Garden center agreements to boycott illegal pesticides are in line with competition law, Dutch watchdog says

( September 2, 2022, 11:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Arrangements between garden centers in the Netherlands to curtail growers' use of illegal pesticides have been cleared under antitrust rules, the national competition agency said today. Under the cooperation deal, GroenRijk, Hornbach, Intratuin, Praxis, Ranzijn and Welkoop will randomly test ornamental plants in laboratories to see if they show any trace of illegal pesticides. If such substances are found, the garden centers will temporarily refuse to stock such plants, and will inform competitors of the incident to ensure such plants aren't sold elsewhere.Statement follows. ...
