Bain Capital eyes $1 billion investment in India’s Axis Bank

According to people directly familiar with the matter, Bain is also mulling the subsequent acquisition of a further 5 percent stake from existing investors, which may increase its exposure to nearly 10 percent, pushing its total possible investment in Axis to close to $1.5 billion. Any potential deal will be subject to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India....
