Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes fined in Argentina's beer antitrust probe

( March 10, 2023, 15:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Sumamry: Argentina's Secretary of Commerce fined Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes (CMQ) 390 million Argentinian pesos ($1.94 million) for abusing its dominant position in the beer market, according to a statement. The decision followed a recommendation from Argentina's competition authority, the National Commission for the Defense of Competition, known as CNDC. In August 2021, CMQ was fined by the secretary and prohibited from implementing any type of formal or informal commercial agreement with points of sale.
