Tobii says Smartbox acquisition will deliver benefits; proposes remedies (update*)

( July 8, 2019, 09:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Swedish optical-technology maker Tobii has maintained that its completed acquisition of Smartbox Assistive Technology and Sensory Software International will deliver benefits to the disabled, in the form of improved products and services. Tobii was responding to provisional Competition and Markets Authority findings. It has proposed concessions to address the CMA’s concerns, including licensing Smartbox’s Grid software to competing suppliers, and said having to divest Smartbox would be disproportionate.
