CO2 emissions average for new cars and vans rose in 2018, EEA says

( June 24, 2019, 13:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The average emissions of carbon dioxide from new passenger cars registered in the EU and Iceland rose for the second consecutive year in 2018, while emissions by new vans rose for the first time, according to provisional data published by the European Environment Agency. The EEA said that the main contributing factors are the growing share of petrol-engined cars over diesel, especially SUVs, and the slow market penetration of electric and zero-emissions cars.
