Swiss interim measures on Mastercard lifted but probe continues, watchdog says

( August 25, 2022, 08:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Interim measures imposed by Switzerland's Competition Commission on Mastercard, as part of a probe into whether it has hindered the market entry of SIX's National Cash Scheme, have now been revoked, the watchdog said today. Last year, Comco opened a probe to see if Mastercard had abused its market power and ordered interim measures that would have allowed banks to issue Mastercard-branded debit cards that could process NCS transactions while the probe was ongoing. SIX decided to postpone the market entry of NCS until the conclusion of the probe, so the watchdog decided to drop the measures. But the investigation as such continues, Comco said.
