By James Panichi ( June 24, 2019, 02:03 GMT | Insight) -- AP Eagers and Automotive Holdings Group may have to divest themselves of car dealerships in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley Region of the eastern Australian state of New South Wales to address competition concerns related to their proposed combination, the country’s competition regulator has suggested. In correspondence released today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission suggested the solution to the high concentration in that specific market could be addressed “by the divestiture of certain dealerships by AP Eagers or the combined entity.”AP Eagers and Automotive Holdings Group may have to divest themselves of car dealerships in the Newcastle/Hunter Valley Region of the eastern Australian state of New South Wales to address competition concerns related to their proposed combination, the country’s competition regulator has suggested....
