( December 2, 2020, 23:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The dismissal of SmileDirect Club's antitrust suit accusing members of the Dental Board of California of engaging in an anticompetitive campaign of harassment should be reversed, the US Department of Justice said in an amicus brief with the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In the brief, filed in support of neither party, the DOJ urged the appeals court to correct the district court’s "apparent misreading" of antitrust laws and take a narrow reading of the state action doctrine as it applies to the board's immunity.See document below....
