Adblock Plus provider may have abused dominant position, top German court rules

( October 18, 2019, 10:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The provider of free adblocking software Adblock Plus may have abused its dominant position, Germany's Federal Supreme Court has ruled. The browser plugin automatically prevents ads from loading on websites, and bigger website operators must pay fees if they want to be included in a white list. Judges partially annulled a lower appeal court ruling that dismissed antitrust claims brought by ad-financed website operators. The court has referred the case back to the Higher Regional Court in Munich to review the dominance-abuse claims and to do a balance of interest test.See the public version of the ruling attached in German....
