Polish whistleblower reports quadrupled in 2022, antitrust watchdog says

( March 7, 2023, 10:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The number of reports filed under the Polish antitrust authority's whistleblower program more than quadrupled in 2022, year-on-year. There were 2,396 tips last year compared to 547 in 2021, UOKiK said today when presenting on overview of its 2022 activity. The office issued fines totaling 241 million złoty (around $55 million) for anticompetitive conduct and carried out dawn raids nine times, searching 30 companies. The agency also started 35 competition-law proceedings and issued eight decisions, concerning seven illegal agreements and one dominance-abuse case. In 2022, UOKiK received three leniency applications and granted fine reductions in two cases as part of the program.Statement follows (in Polish). ...
