Four logistics companies, sector association fined by CADE in freight cargo cartel probe

( May 12, 2021, 20:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Logistics companies Dachser GmbH & Co., JAS do Brasil Transportes Internacionais, Kuehne+Nagel International AG and Kuehne e Nagel Serviços Logísticos, as well as four individuals and a sector association, have been fined 31.2 million reais ($5.87 million) for taking part in an international air and sea freight cargo cartel with effects in Brazil. Additionally, the Tribunal of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense closed the probe of JAS Worldwide Management LLC and three individuals — Dermot Leeper, linked to Geologistics (currently Agility); Werner Blaser, linked to Kuehne & Nagel; and Patrick Moebel, linked to Schenker Inc. — due to lack of evidence.CADE press release follows in Portuguese....
