Air France KLM supports US carriers on Gulf carrier subsidies

( June 18, 2015, 22:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Air France KLM has submitted its response to the US Department of Transportation's docket regarding claims by American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines that Gulf carriers are receiving subsidies. Air France KLM said it suppports the three carriers' views that there is a need to address subsidized competition from state-owned airlines in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The airline also said that, in order to avoid having the US industry end up in the situation the EU currently is in, the DOT must take measures to respond to "this systemic threat," and the agency should coordinate its actions with its counterparts in Europe and around the world.Statement follows below:...
