Consumers see right-to-repair law get final approval of EU member states

( May 30, 2024, 12:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU consumers today saw the “right-to-repair” directive, promoting the repair of broken or defective goods, approved by the Council of the EU today. This law creates a set of tools and incentives to make it easier and more attractive for consumers to have defective products repaired instead of replaced. It also aims to ensure that repair services become more transparent, with an EU online platform with information on repair services and processes to be made available. The directive will be published in the EU's Official Journal and will enter into force shortly after.Statement follows....
