Waste company Bingo Industries pleads guilty in Australian criminal-cartel law

( August 16, 2022, 04:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australian waste company Bingo Industries has pleaded guilty to criminal-cartel offenses relating to price fixing in the provision of demolition-waste services in Sydney. In a statement published today, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the charges alleged that, in 2019, Bingo had agreed with its competitors Aussie Skips Bin Services and Aussie Skips Recycling to “fix and increase prices for the supply of skip bins and the provision of waste processing services for building and demolition waste in Sydney.” Bingo former managing director and chief executive officer Daniel Tartak has also been charged with two criminal-cartel offenses, according to the ACCC statement, however he has yet to enter a plea as part of the prosecution.
