Peru's Indecopi Tribunal upholds fine on power distributor SEAL for discriminating against customers

( August 12, 2022, 14:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Peruvian competition authority's Tribunal has upheld a fine imposed by the authority on electricity distributor Sociedad Eléctrica del Sur Oeste S.A., or SEAL, for abusing its dominant position in the market for electricity supply and discriminating against final consumers, according to a statement. The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property, or Indecopi, said this is the second time that fines imposed in that market have been confirmed by the agency's Tribunal this year. Indecopi also said that the decision is in line with recommendations from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to combat anticompetitive practices in the electricity distribution market.Statement and document follow below in Spanish:...
