Facebook delaying discovery, states, FTC tell judge, ask for order to meet and confer

( May 10, 2021, 22:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Facebook is delaying the monopolization suits it faces, US state attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission said in court filings asking a judge to order the social media giant to meet and confer with the government enforcers. Facebook identifies "no material inefficiency" that might result from a prompt conference, the FTC said in its filing. "Facebook provides no reason that its refusal to engage with the government plaintiffs increases efficiency; it simply insists that it does not desire to do so," the FTC added. The state attorneys general asked US District Judge James Boasberg, who is overseeing the separate FTC and US states' monopolization suits against Facebook, to order the social media giant to meet and confer by May 20. See documents below. ...
