T-Mobile-Sprint settlement with DOJ based on 'shaky set of promises,' groups tell court

( October 11, 2019, 18:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The settlement T-Mobile and Sprint reached with the US Department of Justice clearing their merger is based on a "shaky set of promises" as part of a convoluted and regulatory proposal to make Dish Network the new fourth national wireless carrier, several groups told the court reviewing the settlement. Public Knowledge, Consumer Reports, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and New America's Open Technology Institute said the deal should be blocked even with the conditions and settlement review should be paused during separate litigation against the merger filed by a group of state attorneys general.Statement and document follow below....
