Japan's NIPPO found guilty of antitrust violation by Tokyo District Court

( September 15, 2016, 08:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NIPPO, one of the road construction companies indicted by Japanese prosecutors in February on suspicions that they rigged bids on post-quake highway repair projects, said that the Tokyo District Court today ordered the company to pay 180 million yen ($1.8 million) in penalties. An individual affiliated with the company was also given a suspended prison sentence. The company said in a statement that it would strengthen its legal compliance and restore public trust.
