Data enforcement action against Tagadamedia closed by CNIL after achieving compliance

( May 28, 2024, 09:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Publishing company Tagadamedia, which had been fined 75,000 euros last year for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, has seen the French data protection authority close its enforcement action against the company. Tagadamedia, which operates websites including Samples Avenue, Survey Avenue and Vouchers Avenue, was fined for failing to seek valid consent for collecting users' personal data (here). In addition to the fine, the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés, or CNIL, had ordered the company to implement a GDPR-compliant data collection form within one month, subject to a penalty of 1,000 euros per day of delay. The company submitted new forms the CNIL found to be compliant and adequate, thus closing the proceedings.Statement follows in French. ...
