​Walmart, Rite Aid, beverage suppliers' Chinese glass container imports to be examined by US Commerce

By Kat Lucero ( October 10, 2019, 19:02 GMT | Insight) -- Walmart, Rite Aid, Big Lots and other major US-based retailers that buy glass bottles and jars from China will be scrutinized by the US Commerce Department over the alleged unfair trade of those imports. The investigation — which would lead to future antidumping duties as high as 818 percent — would add to an existing tariff scheduled to increase to 30 percent next week on a variety of Chinese glass containers, first imposed last year as part of the Trump administration’s market-rattling trade actions against China under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.US-based major retailers Walmart, Rite Aide, Big Lots and others that buy glass bottles and jars from China will be scrutinized by the US Department of Commerce for alleged unfair trade of those imports....
