Insurance company pays Spanish GDPR fine over illegal data processing

( February 24, 2023, 12:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An insurance company, Mapfre España Compañia De Seguros Y Reaseguros, has paid a fine of 24,000 euros imposed by the Spanish Data Protection Agency for illegal data processing, violating Article 6 of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. Following the investigations, the watchdog that the company had, without prior knowledge or consent, registered the data subject as a holder of several policies, the regulator said.
