​Cognizant says DOJ declination to prosecute rebuts shareholder lawsuit claims

( June 10, 2019, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cognizant Technology Solutions said it should be dismissed as a defendant in a shareholder suit claiming the company made misrepresentations in a bribery scheme in India. Cognizant said arguments made by the shareholders were disproven by statements of the US Justice Department. DOJ in February declined to prosecute the company in part because of the quality of its compliance program but the shareholders' complaint claims Cognizant had an inadequate program, Cognizant said. Cognizant said that this and other contradictions in the shareholders' second amended complaint justified the dismissal of the case against the company. The shareholder suit also names two former Cognizant executives as defendants.See document below....
