Peters Ice Cream's agreement with PFD sparks Australian competition lawsuit

( November 19, 2020, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Iconic Australian brand Peters Ice Cream had been hit with an antitrust lawsuit, with the country competition watchdog today alleging that the company had hindered or prevented competition for the supply of single-wrapped ice-creams to gasoline and convenience retailers. In a statement, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said its Federal Court of Australia lawsuit would allege that Peters’ parent company, Australasian Food Group, had engaged in exclusive dealing by entering into an agreement with PFD Food Services to distribute its confectionary products nationally. The agreement is alleged to have remained in place between November 2014 and December 2019.   The full statement from the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission follows. ...
