Johanniter-Orden gets German merger approval to acquire four hospitals

( February 21, 2023, 11:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Johanniter-Orden has received merger clearance for acquiring three Protestant hospitals in Hamm, Lippstadt and Gronau/Westphalia (Valeo-Kliniken) and a Catholic hospital in Hamm (St. Marien-Hospital), the Bundeskartellamt has said. With the acquisition, Johanniter Group is merging two previously competing clinics in the city of Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia into a single operation, the authority said. This reduces the number of hospital operators in Hamm from three to two. The deal could be cleared because the hospitals in Hamm have been cooperating for many years and have coordinated their range of services over time.Press release follows....
