Yelp fails to get out of Path privacy mobile app privacy litigation

Tigar has denied Yelp’s request for summary judgment against claims that it invaded mobile users’ privacy when it uploaded the address data of those that used the “Find Friends” feature of its app. Tigar says that it is questionable whether plaintiffs consented to Yelp uploading their data to its servers, rather than just granting it access, and it remains an issue for the jury whether that act was “highly egregious.” See document below. ...
