EU power distribution grids need more investments, Eurelectric says

( May 22, 2024, 07:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU power distribution grids need a yearly investment of 67 billion euros (73 billion dollars) until 2050, or about the double of today’s average, the EU electricity industry lobby Eurelectric has said in a new study. Yet, it added that the figure could be reduced to 55 billion euros per year if forward-looking strategies are implemented. “Failure to achieve such investments would jeopardize 74 percent of prospective connections in key decarbonization technologies such as electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps and renewables,” the lobby said in a press release.Press release follows; Study attached....
