Renesas-Dialog Semiconductor deal gets German merger approval

( April 29, 2021, 13:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Renesas Electronics has received German merger approval for its acquisition of Dialog Semiconductor. Japanese company Renesas is a major producer of microcontrollers used in the automotive industry and has a strong market position in the supply of semiconductors. Dialog is only marginally active in the automotive industry. The parties' activities overlap only in some areas, where several strong alternative suppliers continue to operate, the Bundeskartellamt said. The watchdog didn't assess the deal under German foreign-trade law because it is not the responsible authority.Press release follows....
