U.S. District Court: Northern District of California - Order of dismissal in Samsung Electronics v Panasonic Corporation

( August 26, 2011, 08:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Northern District Court of California has granted Panasonic's motion to dismiss Samsung's first amended complaint on the grounds that it failed to prove a cognizable antitrust injury.  Samsung accused Panasonic of restraining trade by coordinating anticompetitive patent licensings to control the availability and pricing of Secure Digital Memory Card (“SD Card”) technologies, such as flash memory cards used in various devices like digital cameras and cell phones. The plaintiff has now until 16 September to submit an amended complaint....
