Chinese textile firms added to US import ban list over links to Uyghur forced labor

( May 16, 2024, 17:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Homeland Security announced the addition of 26 textile companies based in China to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List. Effective May 17, 2024, goods produced by the named 26 entities, which are largely based outside the Xinjiang region, will be restricted from entering the US. Adding these entities to the list will make it easier for responsible companies to ensure that they are not purchasing cotton from entities who are sourcing cotton from Xinjiang, Homeland Security said.Statement and listings follow below:...
