Seoul says it welcomes WTO decision on its anti-dumping duties on Japanese pneumatic valves

( October 1, 2019, 07:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy says it supports the adoption of the WTO Appellate Body’s earlier decision over South Korea’s anti-dumping duties on Japanese pneumatic valves by the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body. The ministry added that the final adoption of the decision would not affect the anti-dumping tariffs that South Korea imposes on Japanese pneumatic-valve imports and that protection measures for domestic industries would continue within boundaries allowed by the WTO. The ministry said the WTO’s Appellate Body upheld 10 out of 13 considerations in favor of South Korea, while finding that the methods of price-effect analysis adopted by South Korea had flaws. The ministry says the decision does not mean termination of the anti-dumping duties, nor adjustment of the anti-dumping duty rates.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
