Whistleblowers in two enforcement actions get more than $3 million from US SEC

( April 23, 2021, 18:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Securities and Exchange Commission awarded a whistleblower $3.2 million for alerting the SEC to a violation and then providing subject matter expertise during the agency's investigation. However, the SEC said that the whistleblower submitted information four years after noticing the conduct in question and 17 months after understanding it could be a securities law violation, which the SEC said was an unreasonable delay that diminished the amount of the award.
