Danfoss-Eaton deal faces in-depth review by CADE

( November 9, 2020, 22:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Danish engineering-equipment maker Danfoss's plans to acquire the hydraulics business of Irish-US company Eaton will face an in-depth review by the Brazilian competition authority. By declaring the deal "complex," investigators with the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, expressed concerns over high concentrations in the markets for hydraulic power-steering units, hydraulic orbital motors, hydraulic piston engines and hydraulic piston pumps, of which the parties hold combined shares over 50 percent. CADE also said it needs to further study whether competition in those markets is effective. CADE's Superintendence has asked the parties to submit the efficiencies resulting from their deal.
