French telecom regulator opens program for 5G pilots, for all participants

( January 17, 2018, 08:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The French telecom regulator Arcep has begun a pilot program, open to all participants, after the global standards body for mobile technology 3GPP issued the first 5G standards last month. Those taking part in the program will make use of frequencies in the 3.4-3.6 and 26 gigahertz bands in certain parts of the country, for a limited time. These bands — which are already earmarked in Europe for 5G services — will allow companies to explore new service-delivery models and business propositions for the technology.5G, FREQUENCIES AND INNOVATION...
