Guatemala opposition asks president to explain meeting with TCQ bribery-case owners Maersk

( May 20, 2016, 02:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Guatemalan opposition party, the National Unity of Hope, or UNE, formally asked President Jimmy Morales to give a public explanation of his meeting with Danish shipping company Maersk, a subsidiary of which owns 85 percent of the Terminal de Contenedores Quetzal, or TCQ. The award of the TCQ concession is the subject of a bribery trial involving the country’s former president. Morales this week disclosed he had met with Maersk representatives to discuss the project, which Maersk’s Dutch subsidiary APM Terminals acquired in March.Statement follows in Spanish....
